Following the Lineker lunacy and the Edwards escapade, the BBC came up with the following headline to a story on their website, regarding the release of a motion* picture about the plastic plaything.

"Why are we all so obsessed with Barbie?"

That must have been one heck of a survey, hack or hackette... but it ain't accurate because even though some of us might be advanced in years, we have managaged to keep a working brain and certain critical standards.

I haven't seen the cinematic offering, but I'd like to bet it ain't up there with "Some Like it Hot", "Singing in the Rain", "Gone WithThe Wind", "The Wizard of Oz" etc.

* In my dictionary, the word 'motion' can mean 'dung'!
