'TAIN'T WHAT YA DO
IT'S THE WAY
THAT YA DO IT!
Apparently, a female person by the name of Loraine Holmes recently travelled by train from Leeds to London, and then took a taxi to Finsbury Park to gawp at the latest offering by street artist... Banksy!
A senior business analyst by trade, she is a self-confessed Banksy superfan.
"I spent a total of about five hours there, just taking it all in and observing people." she said.
Well... Banksy's artworks are produced by means of stencils, Loraine, and you could get them done yourself by a machine from photographs... then you just bash away with a spray gun or stencil brush. I could do it... old uncle Tom Cobley and all!
If you live in Leeds, or thereabouts, you could pop along to Dewsbury, it's less than 10 miles as the crow flies... or takes a bus. In the town centre you will see some exclent stencils by a genleman by the name of Trafford Parsons... there's one of local heroine Eileen Fenton, the first woman to swim the English Channel (she is still alive... aged 96!) and... Dewsbury born Betty Boothroyd who served as the Speaker of the House of Commons from 1973 to 2000. There's one of fashion designer Vivienne Westwood as well.
Gawp to your heart's content!
